| Personal History: | Dr. C. B. Akins, Sr., is a native of Bath Springs, TN, the son of Robert and Mary Lee Akins. He is one of six children born to this union. He is married to the former Roszalyn Mack and is the father of four children: one son, C. B. Akins, Jr., and three daughters Alicia, Neesha, and CeKesha. |

| Military History: | Dr. Akins served in the United States Air Force from 1969-1973 as a multi-lingual interpreter and was honorably discharged. From 1973 to 1980 Dr. Akins taught foreign languages in the Military Intelligence Division of the US Army Reserves. | ||
| Religious History: | Dr. Akins was raised in church by a praying mother. He gave his life to Christ in February, 1974. He was licensed to preach in 1977 and ordained in 1980. From 1980-1983 Dr. Akins served as pastor of Carneal Chapel MBC in Paducah, KY. In February of 1983 Dr. Akins was called to serve First Baptist Bracktown in Lexington, KY. At FBB Dr. Akins has partnered with God to grow the church from 65 members to over 900 active members. In June 2006, a new church complex was completed with a sanctuary seating over 900, classroom space for over 400, a library/computer/tutorial center, a family life center, and a licensed daycare facility for 199 children. | ||

| Features: | Dr. Akins was a presenter for the 2005 Community Policing Consortium sponsored by the US Dept of Justice in Washington, DC (105 police agencies). From 2000-2003 Dr. Akins was a featured speaker, teacher, and diversity trainer for the Franklin Graham Ministries of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. Dr. Akins works as a community Relations Consultant to assist police departments, educational systems, public and private corporations in building better relations with minority segments of their respective communities. Dr. Akins is an in-demand preacher/speaker for revivals and conferences across the nation. |
