Overview of First Bracktown Incorporated
First Bracktown Incorporated (FBI) is a non-profit corporation created to provide educational and community service to residents of Fayette County and the surrounding area. The corporation was incorporated in May 2004 and earned its 501c3 status in April 2005. The non-profit status allows the corporation to receive tax deductible donations, gifts and devices and to work in partnership with First Baptist Bracktown to further the mission and goals of the church.
FBI currently operates the following programs that serve the community.
Bracktown Academy Learning Center provides child development services for children 6 weeks to 5 years of age. The program serves 118 children and is committed to providing a quality education for children that is age appropriate and educationally sound. Bracktown Academy Learning Center participates in the STARS for KIDS NOW program as a 3 STAR rated facility.
First BASE (First Bracktown After School Enrichment) is an afterschool program operated in conjunction with Bracktown Academy Learning Center. First BASE provides after school care for 72 children ages 5 – 10 and full day services during the summer and days when school is not in session. Children are able to do homework, physical and creative activities from 2:30 – 6:00 pm on weekdays.
Both programs are licensed through the KY Office of the Inspector General.
BMW (Black Males Working) Academy is a program developed out of the “It Takes a Village” concept. The program provides intense academic and social support to young African American males in middle and high school. The BMW Academy offers educational, social and cultural experiences that improve grade point averages and prepare young men to be successful in life.
GEMS (Growth and Education Motivates Success) Academy is a program developed out of the “It Takes a Village” concept. The sister program to BMW Academy, GEMS provides academic and social support to young ladies in middle and high school. GEMS offer educational and social support that will prepare them for a successful future.
